How Soon Can I Go Back To Work? By Dr. Sutton Graham on May 22, 2014

About a week is the simplest answer.  But there's more.  If your job is not physical or strenuous, and your procedure is one of the 5 most common (except tummy tuck) you should be able to return in one week or less.  Many patients have breast implants or lift, eyelid tuck, or liposuction on Thursday and go to work on the next week.  With facial procedures your colleagues will obviously see the early swelling and possibly bruising, and they'll want to know more about your experience.  With tummy tuck we usually suggest waiting 1.5 weeks before you resume driving or office work.  On the other hand vigorous jobs might mean 2-6 weeks of restrictions.  During a personal consultation we'll learn more about you and explain this in detail.
