In addition to facial cosmetic surgery and surgical body contouring procedures, we perform a wide variety of minimally-invasive treatments for healthy, smooth, youthful-looking skin. Our advanced laser and light-based treatments offer results without invasive surgery and downtime. These treatments can help smooth wrinkles on the face and neck, tighten and improve skin tone and texture, decrease acne scars, improve facial redness and rosacea, and remove unwanted hair. We invite you to learn more about non-surgical procedures such as laser skin resurfacing and laser hair removal at our Greenville practice, serving Asheville, Spartanburg, and other nearby communities.
All procedures are performed at our modern, spacious cosmetic surgery facility, where we're proud to offer the advantages of specialized care, privacy, comfort, and advanced technology. Dr. Sutton Graham and our nurse practitioner administer treatment safely and thoroughly and have the experience and skill to achieve beautiful, glowing results. Although television and magazines have helped generate interest in new (but often unproven) methods for non-surgical rejuvenation, our practice concentrates only on the treatments that have a history of success. Many types of doctors and some spas are expanding into the field of non-surgical procedures, but without the relevant medical residency and fellowship training. We caution you to evaluate their credentials carefully, and to pursue facial rejuvenation with a board-certified plastic surgeon like Dr. Sutton Graham. For skin treatments we do not offer, Dr. Graham can suggest a board-certified dermatologist.
Our practice uses advanced laser technology to enhance patient comfort and results. Laser treatments for skin resurfacing, hair removal, and other procedures at our Greenville practice are performed with systems such as SkinTyte™, ClearScan™, ThermaScan™, and Contour MLP™. These lasers are renowned for their safe, gentle treatments, as well as for their versatility and effectiveness in treating patients with different conditions and skin tones. We also used advanced products and technology for our other non-surgical procedures, including BOTOX® Cosmetic, lip augmentation with Restylane®, and chemical peels. We can combine our minimally-invasive treatment options in order to help our patients achieve the youthful, rejuvenated appearance they desire. In addition, most of our non-surgical treatments allow you to return to activities and work right away, while others have only a brief recovery period
Laser skin resurfacing at our Greenville practice is also referred to as ablative resurfacing. The procedure addresses deep texture lines on the skin's surface that appear due to age or sun damage. Laser skin resurfacing can also treat skin discoloration and acne marks. The length of the procedure depends on the number of areas to be treated, but laser skin resurfacing generally takes between thirty minutes and one hour. Multiple treatments may be necessary to reduce the appearance of deep wrinkles and acne scars.
During the skin resurfacing procedure, the laser treats the targeted areas, removing the outer, damaged layers of skin. Laser skin resurfacing also stimulates the production of new, healthy skin cells. The results of the procedure include uniformly smooth and youthful-looking skin.
Laser skin resurfacing is one of the few minimally-invasive procedures we offer that may require a recovery period of one to two weeks. Fraxel® and other fractional laser resurfacing treatments give similar results. Most patients feel that their improved skin texture is well worth this short healing period. Dr. Sutton Graham and his staff will discuss both the advantages and risks that are associated with the procedure during a laser skin resurfacing consultation at our Greenville practice.
Laser hair removal is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure for both men and women. Our female patients are typically interested in the removal of hair from the face, legs, underarms, and bikini area. Male patients commonly request laser hair removal for the back and chest. With laser hair removal at our practice, body hair can be reduced from almost any area of the body where it is excessive or unwanted.
Four to six laser hair removal treatments are typically necessary for optimal results. Because hair growth occurs in cycles, laser hair removal sessions are spaced one month apart in order to ensure that treatment is performed during the growth stage. As the laser light targets the actively-growing hair, the follicle is damaged and future growth is inhibited. The beams from our advanced lasers pass harmlessly through the surface of the skin, causing little to no discomfort. The procedure is safe and gentle, and offers effective hair removal with little to no downtime. Laser skin tightening is a popular procedure because it can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles without any downtime. This non-surgical, minimally-invasive treatment is performed using a laser light beam to target the areas for rejuvenation. Infrared (IR) energy technology is used. The molecules under the skin's surface are heated, stimulating production of the protein that gives skin its smooth, supple contours. As the skin tightens, wrinkles and fine lines are smoothed away. Some patients may notice results almost immediately, but most see continual improvement over a few weeks. Analogous procedures include Titan® and Thermage®. For more information about any of our services, including laser skin tightening, laser skin resurfacing, or laser hair removal, please contact our Greenville practice, near Spartanburg and Asheville.
If you are one of the 14 million Americans who suffer from the skin condition known as rosacea, our advanced laser treatments can help reduce the appearance of its symptoms, including redness, swelling, and scars. Rosacea laser and broadband light treatment can target the entire face, or focus on specific areas. To learn more about how your rosacea can be improved with laser treatment, please contact our cosmetic surgery practice and schedule a consultation with Dr. Sutton Graham.
We use the Sciton ClearScan™ laser system to reduce or eliminate the appearance of spider or varicose veins. This non-surgical, minimally-invasive procedure is one of the safest and most effective light-based treatments available and requires little to no downtime. Most of our patients are extremely happy with their results. To learn more about laser vein removal, please contact the Aesthetic Center for Breast and Cosmetic Surgery.
We use the Sciton Broadband Light Source (BBL), one of the premiere intense pulsed light systems. With this series of rejuvenating skin treatments, Dr. Sutton Graham and our nurse practitioner can treat the effects of sun damage, hyperpigmentation, and more. BBL is similar to laser treatments in that it removes damaged layers of skin and encourages new, healthy skin layers to grow; however, high energy light waves are used instead of a laser beam. IPL® and photofacials are comparable treatments.
In addition, we use SkinTyte™, an advanced Sciton BBL treatment which provides no down-time, minimally invasive (non-ablative) skin tightening. This is done with an anesthetic cream applied to the skin. Typically, multiple treatments, spaced three to six weeks apart, are needed for the best possible results. Patients can return to their normal activities almost immediately after treatment.
