Case 11 (13116): Breast Reduction

This 54 year old woman had endured years of back, neck, and shoulder pain from her large breasts. For treatment she was referred by her physician and nurse practitioner. Dr. Graham enjoys helping women with this condition. She stood 5' 1" and weighed 170. She had 3 children. She had had a prior benign breast biopsy, and she had a history of keloid scar formation. Her bra was 42 D, but she would have been professionally fitted in something much larger (probably DDD or G cup). She had deep shoulder grooves from her bra straps and dark pigmentation for the irritation. About 650 gm of extra breast tissue were removed from each side during reduction surgery. She recovered well and her symptoms improved greatly. Her breasts are now well proportioned, and there are no scar problems. She felt the results were "very impressive."
