Description

This woman in her early 30's sought help reducing irregular facial pigmentation, primarily freckling caused by sun exposure and genetics. She was currently practicing good skin UV protection with regular sunscreen and avoid excessive sun exposure. After consultation she began seeing two members of our staff. Stacy Bufano (Skin Care Specialist) started her on an Obagi regimen to reduce melanin production and other sun damage. Sara Christie (Nurse Practitioner) began a series of broad band light (BBL) treatments to reduce pigment already in the skin. Over the course of regular visits during 5 months time, the patient saw major reduction of her freckling and improved skin appearance. The routine photos show the side by side improvement. The unusual images are taken with a special imaging system (Vectra) which can selectively reveal pigment within the skin.
