Tummy Tuck / Abdominoplasty: Case 1 (10867)

This 28 year old woman was referred to see Dr. Graham after talking to several patients and friends, including her contacts in the medical field. She wanted improvement of her abdominal appearance (stretch marks, loose over-hanging skin and excess hip and central abdominal fat, lax tone). She had 4 pregnancies. She had lost 20 pounds to improve her shape. Her Ob/Gyn had completed evaluation of some pelvic symptoms and recommended a hysterectomy, so she decided to combine this with abdominoplasty. Her tummy tuck included removal of lower abdominal skin and fat, tightening central muscle layers, maintaining the belly button, liposuction of the flanks, and a low placed scar. A long-acting anesthetic pump was used to reduce post-op pain. She is a woman of color and her scar healed and faded well. She noticed improved posture. Somewhat later she had breast reduction.
