"Time Out" Part of Patient Safety
One of the patient safety measures we employ. This coming Wednesday is promoted by the Association of periOpertive Nurses to encourage other facilities to adopt this technique. We've already been doing this for years. Other recommended measures are "pre-procedure verification" and "site marking." Everyone who has been a patient here should recall those being done during the process of getting you ready for your procedure.
