  • Fine Lines

In-Office Chemical Peels vs. At-Home Chemical Peels

If you've used at-home chemical peels in the past, you may not have achieved your desired results. Our Greenville plastic surgery office can offer you a variety of benefits, including:

Earned Expertise

At Aesthetic Center Greenville, your chemical peel treatment will be conducted by a licensed esthetician. We aim to give you incredible care and better results than at-home peels.

Superior Products

At-home peels tend to be less effective, as they are designed for the average person who may not have experience in the skin care field. If you need more substantial results, our superior products and trained estheticians can address your skin concerns.

Safer Treatment

When you use the wrong products, you may unintentionally harm your skin when using a chemical peel, no matter if it's a mild or deep peel. Our staff can carefully select the best peel for your skin type and tone and apply it with ease, all while practicing the proper safety precautions.

Real Patients, Real Results

Before a Chemical Peel
Before a Chemical Peel This 30-year-old patient came to our Greenville, SC, office because she was worried about her facial pigmentation, primarily the freckling on her face due to sun exposure and genetics. She was already practicing good skin care that included sunscreen and protecting her skin from UV rays, but she wanted to do more.
After a Chemical Peel
After a Chemical Peel Our skin care specialist decided the Obagi Radiance chemical peel would be best for her goals. This peel reduced melanin production and other sun damage. Our nurse practitioner then provided her with a series of broadband light treatments to reduce pigment already in the skin. The result is the reduction of freckling and improved skin appearance.
Adults of all ages can see results from peels. From smoothing your scars to reducing dark spots, one of our available chemical peels can help make a difference in your facial appearance.

What to Expect After Your Peel

Superficial, moderate, and deep chemical peels all compromise the skin's protective barrier for a short time. As you heal, you can expect:
Any discomfort you experience after your treatment can be managed with thick moisturizers and over-the-counter pain relievers.
Any discomfort you experience after your treatment can be managed with thick moisturizers and over-the-counter pain relievers.

Dryness

After treatment, your skin may feel tight and dry for about three to four days. This may be accompanied by mild swelling.

Redness

Patients can typically expect redness that lasts anywhere from three days to a few weeks. Redness will last longer with a deep chemical peel.

Peeling

Depending on the peel you've received, you can expect skin flaking and peeling. The skin may peel for 7-10 days after a superficial peel and for two weeks or more after a deep peel. Skin peeling may not occur until a few days after your treatment.

A gentle skin care routine that consists of hydrating cleansers, moisturizers, and sunscreen can help alleviate any symptoms you experience after your superficial, moderate, or deep chemical peel. Our Greenville, SC, office has different skin care products available and our team would be happy to make recommendations.

I have been to many injectors in the past for Botox and filler, but none have come close to the professionalism and expertise of Cat Crain. Cat spent a large part of my appointment really getting to understand my goals and facial structure to create optimal outcomes from the injections. Cat was very clear about my follow up steps and even followed up with me after the appointment to make sure I was happy with the results. Overall, am amazing experience!
