Reduce Signs of Aging

While non-surgical treatment options like dermal fillers or injectables can only correct mild signs of aging, plastic surgery allows you to address sagging skin, deep wrinkles, jowls, and other substantial concerns in one procedure.

Improve Facial Definition

A facelift is the only method that can be used to tighten your facial muscles, restoring definition in your cheekbones and jawline. Dr. Sutton Graham is a plastic surgeon who can address the mid-face, lower cheeks, naso-facial grooves, and jawline with sophisticated facelift techniques.

Dr. Sutton Graham is very knowledgeable of not only the medical aspect of elective/corrective surgery, but also the psychological side. He sets realistic expectations, and in my experience, it went way better than I expected. Highly recommend!

What Areas of the Face Can a Facelift Address?

Types of Facelift

Dr. Sutton Graham has an excellent reputation for achieving beautiful, natural-looking results with facelift surgery. A variety of techniques are available, and the procedure can be adapted to suit each individual patient’s desires and problem areas. Most facelift procedures are performed under general anesthesia.

Standard Facelift

What Can It Treat?

The standard facelift can address many concerns: sagging cheeks, deep grooves from the nose to the sides of the chin, lack of definition in the jawline, jowls, loose neck skin, bands under the chin, and double chin.

The Treatment Process

Incisions are placed around the ears, within the hairline, and under the chin to result in virtually unnoticeable scarring. Loose skin is lifted and tightened, and excess fat is removed. Healthy fullness is emphasized and an overly tight look is avoided. You don’t have to change your hairstyle. The upper and lower cheek, naso-facial area, jawline, and neck are all improved.

Short-Scar Facelift

What Can It Treat?

A less extensive procedure is the short-scar facelift. It is designed to address the mid-face, lower cheek, naso-facial groove, jowls, and jawline. There is less tightening of the neck or area under the chin (although liposuction may also be performed to remove fat under the chin).

The Treatment Process

Short-scar facelift surgery may be less extensive than traditional facelifts, but it still delivers excellent results. The MACS lift, limited facelift, mini-lift, minimally-invasive lift, Life-style lift, and S-Lift are all versions of this procedure. The incisions are typically made in front of the ear and hidden around the sideburns and hairline. The surgery offers many benefits: it is performed in less time, is less expensive than a standard facelift, and the recovery period is shorter.

Neck Lift

What Can It Treat?

The neck lift addresses the jawline, around and beneath the chin, as well as the front and sides of the neck. It can improve jowls, loose skin, loose muscles, and bands on the neck.

The Treatment Process

The neck lift includes several elements, including platysmaplasty, the tightening of underlying muscle and support layers; submental lipectomy, the removal of fat in the same area (by trimming or liposuction); and the removal of loose skin. Typically, the incisions are made behind the ears, and there is often a small incision beneath the chin.

Comprehensive Facial Rejuvenation

Combining Treatments

On the opposite end of the spectrum of limited techniques is a combination of procedures that some would call comprehensive facial rejuvenation. Others use the term “total facelift.”

What Does It Involve?

It is actually a standard facelift combined with a brow lift, upper and lower eyelid surgery, and supplemental procedures such as laser skin resurfacing and fat graft augmentation of the lips, cheeks, and other contours. When coordinated by Dr. Graham, these can provide dramatic improvements in your appearance.

Comprehensive Facial Rejuvenation

Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation

The term "non-invasive facelift" can refer to a variety of procedures including laser treatments, BOTOX®, filler injections, and chemical peels. These non-surgical treatments are not actual facelifts, but they can produce similar results for patients with minor to moderate signs of aging.

Recovery: What to Expect During Healing

Moderate Discomfort

Patients typically describe any discomfort they experience as being less than they expected. Medications are given to relieve post-operative pain.

Keep Your Head Elevated

You will need to recline, with your head elevated, following the procedure. This can reduce swelling and encourage healing.

Caring for Incisions

Closely follow our aftercare instruction to reduce the risk of incision complications. This includes avoiding sun exposure. Sutures are usually removed within two weeks of surgery.

Light Activity

It is important to walk soon after the procedure and continue light walking often to reduce the risk of complications. Avoid strenuous activity until you are cleared by Dr. Graham.

Return to Work, Etc.

You will typically be able to resume nonstrenuous work in about two weeks. However, strenuous exercise should be avoided for four to six weeks. Dr. Graham will meet with you for several office follow-up visits to advise you along the way.
