Eyelid Surgery

Excess skin around your eyes can not only make you look older, but can also make your upper eyelids droop and block your field of vision.

To improve your appearance and ability to see with natural-looking results, the Aesthetic Center Greenville team performs eyelid surgery.

Eyelid Surgery  Can Be Life-Changing

Restore Your Confidence

Blepharoplasty can address wrinkles and sagging, making you look and feel younger. After eyelid surgery, many patients feel more confident.

Improve Your Field of Vision

Sagging eyelids can interfere with your ability to see. By removing excess skin and tightening the eyelids, your field of vision will be improved.

Combine Procedures

If you desire a more dramatic transformation, you can combine eyelid surgery with other procedures to improve various facial features and other signs of aging.

How does eyelid surgery improve your appearance?

Determining Whether
Surgery Is Right for You

During your consult, we’ll review your medical history, including any eye problems you may have and medications you may be taking. We’ll also show you before-and-after photos of various patients so you can see the results we’ve achieved. Dr. Sutton Graham will then discuss the types of improvements he can help you to achieve. Additional procedures such as BOTOX®, a brow lift, or laser treatment may also be discussed and Dr. Graham will answer any questions you may have.

By combining an upper eyelid blepharoplasty with an endoscopic browlift, we were able to provide subtle, but effective, results for this 48-year-old woman.

What Types of Concerns Can We Address?

Through eyelid surgery, we try to correct loose skin on the upper and lower eyelids, as well as excess fat around the eye.

Loose Upper Lids

Loose skin on the upper lid may interfere with smooth makeup application, hang down over much of the eye, or make one look tired or inattentive.

Wrinkles & Sagging under the Eyes

The skin on the lower eyelid may drape loosely below the eye or accentuate wrinkles.

Fat Deposits

Fat pads may create bags under the eye or protrude above the upper lid, as well.

What to Expect During the Procedure

The patient will be under local or general anesthesia during this out-patient procedure, which lasts between one and three hours depending on the extent of the procedure. Typical recovery supplies are provided to you. The pain is usually mild and easily controlled. Light activities can be resumed in four to seven days. The amount of discoloration in the treatment area varies, but usually resolves in one to three weeks.

Eyelid surgery can help you look younger and help with everyday tasks such as applying makeup. The procedure is relatively short and has a short recovery time compared to other surgical treatments.

Your Expected Results

The risks associated with the procedure are detailed in writing and discussed with you prior to surgery. Results last for years. Patients occasionally choose to maintain results by repeating the procedure again within seven to fifteen years.

We Help Make Your Recovery Even Smoother

Even though most of our blepharoplasty patients are surprised by how easy the recovery period is, we take special steps to help you feel more comfortable during the healing process.

Specialized post-operative massage techniques are usually provided by our Skin Care Specialist. Massage can promote better circulation, lessening swelling and bruising. Our specialist can also give you makeup advice to conceal any lingering signs of treatment.
