Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are designed to rapidly exfoliate the epidermis and stimulate the production of essential collagen and elastin. They are made in a variety of strengths and depths. Chemical peels are specific to treat a variety of skin types. If you want to reduce or eliminate the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, uneven pigmentation, or simply rejuvenate your complexion, we provide several levels of chemical exfoliation, including:
Obagi Radiance Peel
The Obagi Radiance Peel is a light option known as a “lunchtime peel” that is designed for most skin types. Patients may or may NOT experience peeling and flaking. This type of peel uses a blend of gentle acids to exfoliate the skin.
Smart TCA Peel
The Smart TCA Peel uses a blend of trichloroacetic acid and glycolic acid to address moderate to severe pigmentation and melasma. This peel is designed for patients who have already been using medical-grade skincare or have had a series of peels or lasers to help reduce the discoloration. This peel has a longer downtime protocol of seven to 10 days. The Smart TCA Peel significantly improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, pore size, laxity, and stubborn discoloration.
Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) is known as the gold-standard ingredient in chemical peeling. It’s a tried-and-tested acid used for decades by doctors. Ideal for all skin types and most skin tones, the Smart TCA Peel features a blend of 15% Trichloroacetic Acid with 3% Glycolic Acid. The Smart TCA Peel in-office treatment features a patented post-peel Restorative Masque to soothe and reduce skin temperature immediately following peel application.
Fire & Ice
Our office offers Fire & Ice for resurfacing and rejuvenation. Designed to rapidly and safely resurface the skin, this professional treatment involves a combination of warming and cooling sensations that will leave your skin feeling refreshed and invigorated.
Advanced Corrective Peel
A medically exclusive peel that is ideal for people with all skin types concerned with mild to moderate signs of aging, stubborn discoloration, and uneven tone and texture. This peel is a medium-level peel with mild discomfort. A series of peels may be recommended for optimal results.
We also offer the OBAGI Blue Peel®, an advanced chemical peel that uses trichloroacetic acid (TCA) to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, and rough skin. The TCA penetrates the skin, causing a sloughing of dead skin to peel off. Lay the foundation for optimal results by prepping the skin four to six weeks prior to the peel with the OBAGI NU-DERM System. The TCA peel is an excellent option for dark-skinned patients.
Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a mechanical exfoliation of dead surface cells. It reveals healthier cells and makes it easier for skin care products to penetrate the skin. In the process of dermaplaning, vellus hair (peach fuzz) is removed. The hair will gradually reappear as before and will not cause hair to grow in excess. Patients who undergo the treatment regularly claim their skin has more glow and that makeup goes on much smoother. Dermaplane can be done monthly. It can also be combined with additional treatments such as a chemical peel. There is no downtime for our patients from Asheville, Spartanburg, or nearby if dermaplaning is done as a stand-alone treatment at our Greenville practice.
