Breast Reduction: Case 19 (18146)

Description

This 19 year old college student came to the Aesthetic Center because of painful large breasts (breast hypertrophy). She was referred by her primary care physician, and brought her mother with her for the consultation with Dr. Graham. At 5'5" and 145 lbs. she was wearing a 34G bra, having chest pain, shoulder pain, upper back pain. They were painful when attempting exercise even while wearing multiple sports bras. She requested a C cup size. Options were discussed and inferior pedicle reduction had a good chance of maintaining natural sensation and future breast feeding. She had the procedure at a hospital outpatient facility, as required by her insurance company (although we also perform those procedures in our office facility). At 3 month followup she is doing great and fit in a 36 C bra. She is able to be active without discomfort. Her mother had many compliments for Dr. Graham, our nurses, our detailed written information (preop and postop), and finally her daughter's surgical result.
