Breast Reduction: Case 28 (23323)

Description

This 45 year old woman was referred to The Aesthetic Center by another happy breast surgery patient. For several years she had been experiencing back and shoulder pain caused by her sagging, oversized breasts. She was 5' 3" and 130#, wearing 32 DDD bras (and hoping to be c-D size). We agreed with her diagnosis (breast hypertrophy) and recommended reduction mammaplasty surgery. In her situation, health insurance covered the costs, although other patients pay themselves. The surgery included removing excessive breast tissue and lifting the entire breast. By 4 months postop she was using silicone scar reduction sheets and fitting into her 32 D bras. She said her "self-esteem is through the roof" and her back & shoulders are great.
