Breast Lift / Mastopexy: Case 30 (22337)

Description

This 52 yo woman was referred by another enthusiastic patient, and "has several friends that see Dr. Graham" She wanted to improve her breast appearance. She had been considering this for quite some time, even getting a consultation with another surgeon 5 years earlier. She wasn't sure whether she needed a breast lift or a breast augmentation. Her baseline bra size was 34DD (in Victoria Secret), and she wanted to be similarly full postop. She had had 2 children and a prior benign breast biopsy. She was an physically active business professional. She had a normal BMI. Her main concern was the droopy appearance of her breasts. She wanted to have her breasts back up on her chest and a more youthful breast contour. She had a secondary interest in liposuction of her abdomen to help it look better. Dr. Graham discussed her goals, performed an examination with measurements and sizers, and he discussed his recommendations. She decided to combine breast lift (mastopexy) and small implants to give the effect she wanted. Surgery was done in our on-site surgery facility and she recovered well. She was back at work in one week and resumed exercise by three weeks postop. She experienced typical early symptoms and did not loose any nipple sensation. Portions of her skin scars did develop some pink thickening, so scar treatment sheets were used. Her abdomen looked better because of the liposuction too.
